K-8 Assisted Home School Enrollment Process

Parent involvement at home is a necessity for the K-8 Assisted Homeschool Program at approximately 20-25 hours per week of assistance and supervision. All families must go through the following steps to apply.

1. Enroll in BUSD

   If you are already enrolled, move to step 2. Otherwise visit the Berkeley Public Schools Enrollment page.

2. Attend Required Orientation

   All families must attend an orientation before submitting an application. Students and at least one parent must attend the orientation together. Please fill out the https://forms.gle/tLXkYJ3YoAEBh6829. Orientation dates are included on our calendar.

   STUDENTS WITH IEPs

   ****NOTE: If your student has an IEP, please email Special Education K-5 Program Supervisor, Flor Anne Palma at florannepalma@berkeley.net or Middle School Program Supervisor, Shayna Stuempfig shaynastuempfig@berkeley.net or their current case manager to arrange an IEP meeting prior to submitting your BIS Application****

3. Submit Application

   After attending orientation, you are invited to submit the K-8 Assisted Home School Application. Application forms will be given at orientation. Applications from families who have not attended an orientation will not be considered for enrollment.
